Hey there! Just wanted to let you know that develoPPP Ventures is on the lookout for some awesome start-ups to fund. They have an open call for applications twice a year, so you’ve got a couple of chances to get in on the action. And the best part? It’s open to all start-ups that meet the conditions for participation.

Now, depending on which country you’re targeting, you’ll sign a funding contract with either DEG Impulse gGmbH or Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. These two partners are backed by funds from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and they’re all about supporting young companies that have innovative business models and can make a positive impact in selected emerging markets. They’re all about achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), so if your start-up aligns with that, you’re in luck!

Requirement

Now, let’s talk requirements.
Your company needs to be registered in the target country or have plans to register there before you can get that sweet co-financed growth investment.
You should also have an innovative business model that’s already generating some initial revenues (proof of concept).
And of course, your business model should have high development relevance and scalability, and contribute to achieving the SDGs.

Eligible Companies

Your company is registered in one of the target countries OR plans to register in one of the target countries prior to the investment
Your company is privately owned and is also profit-oriented
You are able to provide at least one annual financial statement

Right now, the current call for applications is open in Kenya, Nigeria, and Tanzania. So if you’re based in one of those countries or planning to set up shop there, this could be your chance!
