Apply for the Bilateral Education Agreement Scholarship Awards for Nigerians to Study Abroad (Fully Funded)
The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, cordially invites qualified and interested Nigerians to apply for the 2024/2025 Federal Government Scholarship Awards for the Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA). The scholarship offers opportunities for undergraduate studies in Russia, Morocco, Hungary, Egypt, and Algeria, and postgraduate studies in Russia (for those who obtained their first degrees from Russia), China, Hungary, Serbia, and Romania.
Fields of Study
The fields of study include Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (limited), Pilot Engineering, and Neurology for undergraduate level, and all fields for postgraduate level (Masters Degree and PhD).
Eligibility
- To be eligible for the undergraduate scholarship, applicants must have a minimum of seven (7) distinctions (As & Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) only in the subjects relevant to their fields of study, including English Language and Mathematics.
- Certificates should not be more than two (2) years old (2022 & 2023) for Non-African Countries and for African countries, the age of the certificate is one year (2023) only. The age limit is from 17 to 20 years.
- For the postgraduate scholarship, applicants must hold a First Degree with 1st Class or at least 2nd Class Upper Division.
- All applicants must have completed the N.Y.S.C. Programme,
- and the age limit is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D. N.Y.S.C discharge or exemption certificates only are accepted, and
- evidence of readiness to be released by an employer is required.
GENERAL NOTE FOR ALL APPLICANTS:
(i) Applicants should be aware that the BEA countries do not speak English, so they will need to take a mandatory one-year foreign language course in the country of their choice, which will be the standard medium of instruction.
(ii) For the Hungarian Scholarship, applicants can apply for up to two fields of study in order of preference. Please visit the website www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu, which will be open from the middle of November until the 16th of January, 2024. Complete the application form online.
(iii) If you are applying for Russia, please visit the website http://education-in-russia.com, which is currently open.
(iv) For the Russian Postgraduate Scholarship, it is mandatory for applicants to have acquired their 1st Degree in Russia.
(v) All documents must be uploaded on the Russian Application portal and properly scanned in PDF format.
(vi) All applicants, whether undergraduate or postgraduate, need to upload the following certificates online:
a. UNDERGRADUATE (UG): WAEC/WASSCE & NIN Slip
b. POSTGRADUATE (PG): 1st Degree Certificate, NIN Slip & NYSC discharge or exemption Certificate.
NB: Candidates nominated by the Board will be required to submit the following to the Federal Scholarship Board:
– Authenticated copies of academic certificates
– Data page of the current International passport
– Specified Medical Reports from Government hospitals
– Birth Certificate & Indigene letter
– Police Clearance Certificate where necessary.
