Eligibility Requirements. Candidates must:

  • Be a holder of a non-U.S. passport
  • Be a fluent English speaker and at least one other language
  • have significant journalism experience working for a news media in any medium (note that corporate communications, public relations, and student publications do not qualify for this).
  • possess a 4year undergraduate or a 3year undergraduate degree plus 1year of graduate work.
  • complete the applications for both the fellowship and for the admission into the M.A. program in Journalism
  • note that the GRE exam is not required.
  • TOEFL: take the TOEFL or IELTS. TOEFL is waived if English was applicant’s language of instruction in his or her degree program.
