The African Union’s International Center for Girls and Women’s Education in Africa (CIEFFA) and ImpactHER are collaborating to launch the public phase of an African Union CIEFFA Online Capacity Building Training, commencing in September 2024. This initiative is themed “#AfricaEducatesHer – Digital Skills for All: Bridging the Gender Gap in STEAM, Financial Literacy, and Entrepreneurship.”
The African Union CIEFFA Online Capacity Building Training is designed for both women and men from 55 African Union Member States and the Diaspora who wish to enhance their understanding and skills in gender equality through education, as well as in STEAM, digital literacy, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. Additionally, it aims to support women educators in improving their ability to teach digital literacy and STEAM disciplines.
CIEFFA and ImpactHER are jointly facilitating an online capacity building training focused on skill development and access to STEAM through gender-responsive educational enhancement. This program aims to tackle the challenges encountered by young women and men in Africa, particularly in the realms of STEAM, digital literacy, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. Furthermore, it seeks to bolster the capabilities of women educators in effectively delivering digital literacy and STEAM instruction.
CIEFFA operates as a specialized entity within the African Union, functioning under the Department of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (ESTI) of the African Union Commission. Its mission is to promote and advocate for gender equality in education across the continent.
ImpactHER is a recognized non-profit organization dedicated to empowering African female entrepreneurs by addressing the gender financing gap in business, thereby enabling them to achieve their full economic potential.
The inaugural session of this African Union CIEFFA Online Capacity Building Training, which concluded in December 2023, successfully awarded certificates to over 3,500 participants from African Union Member States and the Diaspora.
