The 2024 PTDF Scholarships, which are awarded to students pursuing bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees at recognized Nigerian universities, come with a laptop computer and worth N700,000 per year. The Federal Government agency responsible for meeting the demands of the oil and gas industry by fostering the development of indigenous human capacity and petroleum technology is the one offering the PTDF Scholarship. The organization is accepting applications for the Bachelor’s, MSc, and PhD scholarships for specific programs in 2023–2024 from applicants who meet the necessary qualifications.

Scholarship Requirements for Petroleum Technology Development Fund Scholarships:
The following requirements must be met in order for interested and qualified applicants to apply for the PTDF Scholarship Program:
Candidates for Postgraduate Studies
- A full-time admission letter to any Federal University in Nigeria is required of applicants.
- a least of Second-Class lower (2.2) in a field connected to oil and gas or management.
- a minimal grade point average in a second-degree certificate program relating to oil and gas.
- Have results from the WAEC, SSCE, or NECO worth at least five credits (two sittings maximum, and the two results must come before the first degree).
- Certificate of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or Exemption Letter
- A certificate attesting to one’s native state and local government status.
- A 1000 word or more personal statement outlining your motivation for pursuing this course of study is required for master’s applicants.
- A six-page maximum PhD research proposal is required. The field of study ought to be pertinent to the oil and gas sector.
Candidates who are undergraduates
- Candidates must be enrolled full-time in any Federal University in Nigeria.
- Candidates must be enrolled in 200 level courses at the moment.
- The study program ought to be associated with the oil and gas sector.
- Have five WAEC, SSCE, or NECO credits, which should include two in math and English language.
- For any undergraduate applicant, having a valid admission letter from the university is a requirement.
- A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 on a 5-point scale or 3.0 on a 4-point scale, or 2.2 in the first year, must be met.
- Transcripts for the first year of study must be submitted by applicants; these must be signed and stamped by the university’s HOD, Exams Officer, or other authorized staff.

- Both undergraduates and graduate students can apply for the scholarships to help pay for their education at Nigerian-based universities;

It is recommended that applicants scan and attach the following papers to their online application forms:
