About the position

With this in mind, we are excited to announce the 2024 Google Software Student Training in Engineering Program (STEP) internship in India. This opportunity is open to underrepresented groups who will be in their second year of university studies by the summer of 2024 and are studying Computer Science or a related subject.
The program consists of three main components: a software project, skills-based training, and professional development. It is open to all qualified university students and is committed to promoting diversity within our company and the technology industry as a whole. We strongly encourage students who belong to historically underrepresented groups in the technology industry to apply.
As a summer trainee, you will work on a development project alongside a team of Googlers and other STEP Interns. This experience will enhance your coding skills and expose you to various tools and programming languages. You will also have the opportunity to attend technical talks by executive Googlers, be paired with a Google Engineer who will guide you throughout the summer, and participate in social activities, community building, and networking.

Minimum qualifications:
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor program, majoring or intending to major in Computer Science or in a related technical field.
- Applicants must be experience in one or more general purpose programming languages.
- Applicants must be able to communicate in English fluently.
Preferred qualifications:
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in a full time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship
- Applicants must be Excellent in programming skills (C++, Java, Python).
- Applicants must have the ability to complete a full time, 10-12 week internship program between May and August 2024
