Applications open for the WHO/Science Africa Road Safety Reporting Training
The World Health Organization (WHO) and Science Africa are organizing a three-day training workshop for journalists in Nairobi, Kenya, scheduled for 16-18 July 2024. The workshop will also mark the official launch of the WHO Africa Regional Report on Road Safety. The primary objective is to provide journalists with the necessary skills to report on critical road safety issues and enable them to train others.
The Road Safety Reporting Initiative is designed to empower journalists to create impactful stories that contribute to the reduction of road crash fatalities. Aligned with the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety, the initiative offers training, guidance, tools, and resources to assist journalists in delving deeper into this pressing matter.
Criteria: WHO/Science Africa Road Safety Reporting Training
- Applications are welcome from journalists and media trainers hailing from Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Tanzania.
- Following the training, participants will have the opportunity to apply for grants to support reporting or training related to road safety, with mentoring provided by the Science Africa team.
