The Western Union Foundation Fellowship is a program that focuses on leadership and venture development for entrepreneurs and community leaders who are either from or working with highly marginalized, refugee, and forcibly displaced communities worldwide. This virtual and global program aims to equip the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaders with the necessary skills and experience to increase economic opportunities, build valuable networks and resources, and transform their communities. Thanks to the support of the Western Union Foundation, this program is fully funded.

The fellowship is specifically designed to empower next-generation entrepreneurs by providing them with the skills, resources, and experience needed to scale their impactful ventures. This fully-funded program will distribute $36,000 in venture development stipends among selected Western Union Foundation Fellowship Fellows based on their progress and impact throughout the Fellowship.

Benefits of the Western Union Foundation Fellowship for Leaders and Entrepreneurs

Support Offered to the Fellows:

1. Training and Skill Development: Receive training and participate in interactive modules conducted by subject-matter-experts in various areas such as Sales, Data & Metrics, Business Foundations, and Funding.
2. Mentorship & Community: Engage with renowned entrepreneurs, industry experts, global alumni, and local partners to gain mentorship, guidance, and support throughout the program.
3. Pitch Coaching: Get the chance to present at a high-profile pitch event at the conclusion of the program to a global network of employees, mentors, alumni, and partners.
4. Venture Development Stipend: A total of $36,000 in venture development stipends will be awarded to selected Western Union Foundation Fellows based on their progress and impact during the Fellowship.

Eligibility for the Western Union Foundation Fellowship for Leaders and Entrepreneurs

To be eligible:

– You must be an entrepreneur or community leader working with highly marginalized, refugee, and forcibly displaced communities worldwide.
– You should possess an entrepreneurial spirit, a growth mindset, and a drive to become an effective leader within your community. Ideal venture stages for this fellowship are Problem-Solution Fit or Product-Market Fit phases, with engaged customers or beneficiaries, and demonstrated outcomes in impact and revenue.
– You must commit to the 16-week program, including a 2-week virtual immersive experience. We prioritize individuals who are fully dedicated to actively participating in the entire program. The success of the program relies on the active engagement and enthusiasm of all participants, who are eager to learn and share.
– Applicants must be located in or creating an impact in the following locations: United States, Uganda, Nigeria, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, United Kingdom, Germany, Lithuania, Japan, Philippines, Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Argentina, and Brazil.
– Preference will be given to applicants from Uganda, Colombia, Mexico, Pakistan, and the United States.
