The Vesalius Innovation Award recognizes exceptional medical breakthroughs and innovations from emerging entrepreneurs and start-ups. This presents a remarkable opportunity for visibility and empowers the future leaders of science to elevate their concepts to new heights.
Our esteemed Vesalius Innovation Award draws inspiration from the renowned surgeon Andreas Vesalius and his seminal 1543 work, De Humanis Corporis Fabrica. Through this publication, Vesalius transformed the field of anatomy and advanced the art of typography and illustration, establishing a foundation for future explorations of the human body from a novel perspective.
Now entering its fifth year, the 2024 anniversary edition of the award welcomes applications from qualified entrepreneurs in the field of science communications.

Rewards and Prizes – Vesalius Innovation Award
The overall winner will be awarded a prize of USD 15,000 and two runners-up USD 5,000 each. The top five startups will profit from media coverage, mentoring by experienced experts or Karger employees and will be present at the live pitching event and the award ceremony.

We would like your pitch deck to be short and catchy rather than long and detailed. This also means that the number of slides should not exceed 10-15. Your pitch deck should be in English.
If you are going to be selected as one of the top five, you will need to submit a more detailed description of your business model. Before you apply, be sure that you have read and comply with our Terms and Conditions.
