Applications open for the The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme ESISMAD Project African Scholarships

The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme, a collaborative effort between the African Union and the European Union, is currently being implemented under the Pan-African Partnership. This program is directly managed by the European Commission through the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency, under the supervision of the Directorate General for International Cooperation and Development. It is carried out in collaboration with the African Union Commission Department for Human Resources, Science and Technology.

ESIMSAD, which stands for Electrochemical Science and Innovative Materials for Sustainable Africa Development, is an initiative organized by four African Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and one EU Technical partner.

Eligibility: The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme ESISMAD Project African Scholarships

  1. The scholarships offered under ESIMSAD are exclusively available to applicants from African countries.
  2. These scholarships are focused on the fields of Materials Science, Solar Energy, Physics, Inorganic Chemistry, Materials Electrochemistry, and Energy Technologies, as well as Physical Chemistry.
  3. The project aims to provide opportunities for postgraduate studies, research, teaching, or training at the African partner Universities: AAU, WITS, UNN, and AASTU.

Scholarship Cover: The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme ESISMAD Project African Scholarships

  1. The ESIMSAD individual scholarships cover various expenses, including one roundtrip flight ticket, visa costs, participation costs, comprehensive insurance coverage (health, accident, and travel), and a monthly subsistence allowance.
  2. The subsistence allowance is intended to cover accommodation expenses and is calculated based on the mobility option chosen by the scholarship recipients.
