Applications open for the Sustainable Energy Accelerator by AIIDEV
The Sustainable Energy Accelerator (SEA) is an initiative by AIIDEV Africa that aims to promote sustainable energy solutions and encourage entrepreneurship in the energy sector. The main objective of the SEA is to accelerate the development and implementation of sustainable energy solutions throughout Africa, while also fostering economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability, and addressing the pressing energy challenges faced by the continent.
The SEA operates as an intensive accelerator program, providing selected participants with a supportive environment to refine their energy solutions. Over a period of 6 months, the accelerator program offers a range of activities including advanced workshops, case-study development, innovation research, bootcamps, and mentorship sessions. These activities are designed to provide participants with comprehensive support and guidance, enabling them to enhance their knowledge, skills, and leadership abilities. Ultimately, this will empower them to drive positive change within Africa’s energy sector.
Acceptable Projects:Â Sustainable Energy Accelerator
- The Sustainable Energy Accelerator welcomes a diverse range of projects and startups that focus on sustainable energy solutions.
- This includes, but is not limited to, renewable energy generation and distribution systems,
- energy-efficient technologies for buildings, industries, and transportation, energy storage and management solutions,
- clean cooking technologies,
- smart grid and energy management systems, digital and IoT-enabled energy solutions,
- as well as sustainable transportation and mobility initiatives.
Please be aware that successful candidates will be brought on board and enrolled in the program by May 2024.
Eligibility Criteria: Sustainable Energy Accelerator
Before proceeding with your application, please take note of the following criteria for participating in this program:
1. Applicants must be citizens of Sub-Saharan African countries and fall within the age range of 21 to 40.
2. Applicants should possess a genuine interest and passion for renewable energy and the green economy, along with a desire to contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development in Africa.
3. Applicants should demonstrate leadership potential and a strong commitment to making a positive impact in their respective communities.
4. You must be willing to dedicate a minimum of 5 hours per week and be available to actively engage in the program.
5. Applicants must have access to a reliable internet connection, data, and the necessary technology devices to fully participate in virtual activities and meetings.
6. The application deadline for the 2024 cohort of SEA is April 25th, 2024, at 9:00 PM (GMT +1). We strongly encourage you to complete and submit this form before the deadline.
