Applications open for the International Renewable Energy Agency Youth Forum
Applications are currently being accepted for the 2025 International Renewable Energy Agency Youth Forum. This sixth edition of the IRENA Youth Forum, titled “The New Generation of Decision Makers,” will take place from January 9 to January 13, 2025, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, coinciding with the fifteenth session of the IRENA Assembly, scheduled for January 11 to January 13, 2025. The Assembly serves as the Agency’s highest decision-making body, where Heads of State, Government officials, Ministers, and global stakeholders convene to discuss and promote the energy transition.
The 2025 IRENA Youth Forum aims to enhance youth networks and facilitate connections with global thought leaders, government representatives, and IRENA experts. This Forum will provide a platform for young individuals to engage in the Agency’s mission of accelerating the deployment of renewable energy to meet climate goals and further the sustainable development agenda.
Participants will have the opportunity to contribute a youth perspective to the global energy dialogue through a variety of interactive sessions, including open discussions and thematic workshops.
Delegates attending the IRENA Youth Forum are expected to engage in:

– Workshops and seminars
– Interactive activities
– Youth circles
– High-level bilateral meetings
Selection Criteria – International Renewable Energy Agency Youth Forum
The event aims for a diverse and balanced geographical representation of youth and strongly encourages applications from individuals in Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Small Island Developing States (SIDS), and other developing nations. Upon selection, full sponsorship, covering travel and accommodation expenses, will be provided for up to 35 participants.

- Youth aged 16 to 35 who are interested may submit their applications by filling out the application form.
- The deadline for individual applications is September 24, 2024, at midnight (Abu Dhabi local time). Selection will be based on the applicants’ commitment to advancing renewable energy deployment.
