Applications open for the Global Landscapes Forum 2024 African Youth Story Telling Contest
Prior to the GLF Africa 2024 Hybrid Conference, the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) and the Youth in Landscapes Initiative (YIL) are organizing the 2024 African Youth Storytelling Contest “The Stories of Africa”.
THEMES: Global Landscapes Forum 2024 African Youth Story Telling Contest
Your narrative should convey your reflections, aspirations, and visions for a future Africa that prioritizes community, cooperation, inclusivity, and resilience. In essence, what does a promising future for Africa entail?
Eligibility: Global Landscapes Forum 2024 African Youth Story Telling Contest
The competition is accessible to individuals aged between 18 and 35 who were born in Africa, reside in Africa, or are part of the African diaspora.
FORMAT: Global Landscapes Forum 2024 African Youth Story Telling Contest
- GLF welcomes a diverse array of storytelling formats that encapsulate at least one of the aforementioned themes. Submissions can be in various forms, such as:
- Visual arts or animation: artwork (paintings, sculptures, drawings, photography, etc.) or animations
- Video: short films, interviews, documentaries, performance art – any form of video content
- Audio: original poetry, music, podcasts, etc.
- Any other creative medium that reflects your unique perspective.
Benefits: Global Landscapes Forum 2024 African Youth Story Telling Contest
- The top 5 to 10 submissions will be showcased on the GLF website and social media platforms, as well as at the GLF Africa 2024 Hybrid Conference, reaching a wide audience both in person and online.
- In addition to the chance to exhibit your talent and share your story with a global audience, the three most outstanding stories will receive prizes of EUR 500, 300, and 200 respectively.

- Entries will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and originality
- Relevance to the specified themes
- Vision and roadmap for the future of Africa
- Clarity of expression and communication of ideas
- Overall impact and effectiveness
