Applications open for the Elevating the Voices of Women in Agriculture in Africa Award ($5,000 Prizes)
The Elevating the Voices of Women in Agriculture (EVWA) Campaign by the Ban Ki Moon Center is dedicated to increasing awareness of the challenges faced by women farmers in Africa. Through the EVWA Changemakers Campaign and the EVWA Council, the BKMC is committed to shining a spotlight on the issues and mobilizing efforts to empower women farmers in Africa. Despite making up nearly half of the world’s smallholder farmers and producing 70% of the continent’s food, women in Africa encounter significant barriers in accessing resources such as land, finances, and education due to gender disparities and the impact of climate change.
