Applications open for the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation (AIG) Public Leaders Programme 2024
Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation (AIG) Public Leaders Programme. The AIG Public Leaders Programme (AIG PLP) provides emerging leaders in the African public sector with a unique opportunity to enhance their leadership skills and acquire the necessary knowledge to drive change. In collaboration with the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government, this programme offers a world-class executive education experience led by renowned experts in public policy.
The programme is specifically designed to enable senior public leaders, as well as those transitioning into senior leadership roles within the public sector in the next three to seven years, to quickly develop a diverse set of skills. Participants will have an exceptional chance to grasp conceptual frameworks and practical tools that are essential in addressing the challenges of our rapidly changing and complex world.
This immersive experience is rigorous and demanding, engaging participants through various methods such as classroom discussions, practical exercises, simulations, and group work. The programme’s ultimate goal is to equip participants with the necessary skills to foster cultures of excellence, effectiveness, and integrity within the public institutions they lead, ultimately benefiting their respective countries.
AIG Public Leaders Programme Eligibility Criteria:
– Applicants must be citizens of any African country and actively working within the public sector in Africa.
– A minimum of seven years of working experience is required.
– Applicants must hold a Grade-level 12 position or above.
– The maximum age limit is 50 years.
AIG Public Leaders Programme Programme Overview
Live Classes
The programme commences with a series of four live online classes, followed by the opportunity to engage with faculty members on the fifth day.
Online Learning
The subsequent four weeks will be dedicated to self-paced online learning, with Teaching Assistants guiding discussions on the online platforms.
Residential Programme
The most challenging segment of the programme is the one-week residential session in Abuja, where Blatvanik School faculty will conduct live teachings at the venue and through video conferencing.
Project Development
Following the residential week, participants will have a designated period to work on their capstone project.
Project Review
The final phase of the programme will involve a review of the projects, along with concluding activities and award ceremonies.
Participants will focus on honing the following key skills:
1. Effective communication
2. Utilizing digital technology
3. Mitigating cognitive biases in decision-making
4. Enhancing organizational efficiency
5. Upholding personal integrity.
