Applications open for the African World Heritage Fund My African Heritage Competition

The African World Heritage Fund is urging all Africans to take part in the celebration of African heritage during Africa Month, which is centered around the theme “My African Heritage.” To encourage participation, the African World Heritage Fund is hosting the #MyAfricanHeritage Competition, where participants have the chance to win a weekend visit to a remarkable African World Heritage site.

The competition will run from African World Heritage Day on May 5th to Africa Day on May 25th. Its purpose is to raise awareness and appreciation for the importance of World Heritage in Africa, as well as the need to preserve African heritage values, wealth, and diversity. The competition is open to all Africans residing in Africa or in the diaspora.

Eligibility: African World Heritage Fund My African Heritage Competition

1. To enter the competition, participants are required to share a photo, video, or written post on the African World Heritage Fund’s social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn) using the hashtag #MyAfricanHeritage
2. Addressing the theme “My African Heritage.”
3. Additionally, participants should tag the African World Heritage Fund in their posts.

Prize: African World Heritage Fund My African Heritage Competition

1. The prize for the competition is a weekend trip to a World Heritage Site,
2. A round-trip flight ticket (economy class), accommodation, and meals for two nights.

Evaluation

1. An independent jury will evaluate the entries based on the relevance of the posts to the theme “My African Heritage”
2. The engagement metrics, such as likes, shares, and reactions.
