Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships Programme. The GOI-IES programme is designed to support exceptional international students who are interested in pursuing a master’s or PhD degree in Ireland [1]. This initiative is a collaboration between the Government of Ireland, Irish higher education institutions, and the Higher Education Authority. Each year, a total of 60 scholarships are awarded to deserving students for a full-time study duration of one year at the master’s or PhD level. Eligibility Criteria:
To be considered eligible for the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Applicants must be domiciled outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland/United Kingdom.
2. Candidates must apply for admission to a relevant master’s or PhD programme offered by an eligible higher education institution, following the institution’s admission procedures.
3. At the time of application, applicants must possess a conditional or final offer of admission from the higher education institution and must provide a copy of the offer letter.
4. The offer letter should confirm that the student has been accepted into a full-time programme as an international fee-paying student.
Benefits:
Recipients of the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship will receive a stipend of €10,000 for one year of full-time study at the master’s or PhD level. Additionally, the host higher education institutions will grant a full fee waiver for the duration of the scholarship. Successful scholars are expected to commence their studies in either September or October 2024.
Please note that, as per the announcement made by the Department of Education, Research, Innovation, and Science in March 2022, Russian and Belarussian nationals are not eligible to apply for this scholarship programme.
