Applications open for Pan African Re/Insurance Journalism Awards for Business Journalists
The 9th edition of the pan-African (Re)Insurance Journalism Awards for Business Journalists, the original and longest running award scheme of its kind, is now accepting entries from all over the continent.
These awards are a testament to Continental Reinsurance’s ongoing dedication to promoting excellence in the industry. They recognize the invaluable role that the re/insurance sector plays in helping individuals and businesses recover from adversity.
Since its inception in 2015, these awards have been honoring the exceptional work of journalists who cover re/insurance topics across Africa.
The winners will be those who can best demonstrate how their articles have enhanced the understanding of the re/insurance sector in Africa. By winning, they will know that they are making a significant contribution to the progress and development of communities throughout the continent.
The 2024 awards will feature several categories, including
- Best Re/Insurance Print Article (English),
- Best Re/Insurance Online Article (English),
- Best Re/Insurance Broadcast Article (English),
- Best Re/Insurance French Entry (Print, Broadcast, or Online), and
- Best Re/Insurance Arabic Entry (Print, Broadcast, or Online).
- Additionally, there will be the Dr. Femi Oyetunji Future Talent Award, which is not open for entries.
Selection process
- The selection process will involve an international judging panel consisting of industry experts and journalism academics.
- They will carefully evaluate all submissions based on the quality of information provided and how it contributes to a better understanding of the benefits that insurance can bring to individuals, communities, and societies as a whole.
