Applications open for AIIDEV Africa Teach4SDGs Cohort 4 (12 weeks training)

AIIDEV Africa has launched Cohort 4 of the AIIDEV Africa Teach4SDGs Cohort 4 program, aiming to promote sustainable development and educate the future generation about the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This 12-week intensive training includes advanced workshops, lectures, comprehensive readings, assessments, and practical projects. It provides school educators with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the 17 SDGs and relevant topics such as Education for Sustainable Development, Climate Change, Environmental Sustainability, Green Economy, Circular Economy, Sustainable Waste Management, Project Management, Technology, and Innovation for Educators.

The primary goal of Teach4SDGs is to equip primary and secondary teachers with the necessary resources to educate the next generation and achieve a sustainable future. By integrating SDG-based education into the curriculum, teachers will be able to effectively teach their students about the SDGs and support their integration into the existing curriculum. This approach aims to promote sustainable development, raise awareness, and encourage action towards achieving the SDGs.

It is important to note that the Teach4SDGs program will be conducted in English, and applicants must have a sufficient knowledge of the language. Applications submitted in languages other than English will not be considered. The program will be conducted virtually using various learning and communication platforms. Therefore, applicants should ensure they have a reliable internet connection to participate.

Selected applicants will have the opportunity to join the 12-week intensive training and activation program, which will commence in May 2024.

Eligibility Requirements: AIIDEV Africa Teach4SDGs Cohort 4

Before proceeding with your application, please take note of the following criteria for participating in this program:

1. The program is open to both Primary and Secondary School Teachers in Public and Private Schools across Sub-Saharan African countries.
2. Applicants must be able to commit at least 4 hours on 2 days per week throughout the training program.
3. All sessions will be conducted in the English language.
4. Applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 45 years.
5. Participants must be available to participate in virtual training and conduct SDGs Activation in their schools.
6. Applicants should be interested in becoming development and transformation agents who promote student learning about the SDGs.
7. Applicants do not necessarily need to have prior knowledge of the SDGs 2030.
