You will be employed at our Lagos office as a participant in the McKinsey & Company Young Leaders Internship Programme (YLP). In this capacity, you will be a vital member of our teams, engaging directly with clients. The Young Leaders Programme is a comprehensive one-year consulting initiative tailored for recent university graduates from diverse academic disciplines who are eager to embark on a rewarding career in consulting and are enthusiastic about contributing to Africa’s development.

This internship is available to West African graduates who have either completed or are in the process of fulfilling their country’s mandatory national youth service. The Mckinsey & Company Young Leaders Internship Program YLP aims to cultivate outstanding young local African talent into effective leaders.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES – McKinsey & Company Young Leaders Internship Program

You will collaborate in teams typically consisting of 3-5 consultants, actively participating in all facets of client engagement. This encompasses the collection and analysis of data, the formulation and testing of hypotheses, and the development and communication of recommendations. Additionally, you will have the chance to present findings to clients and work alongside client team members to implement these recommendations.

You will acquire new skills while enhancing the strengths you bring to McKinsey. Participants in the YLP benefit from exceptional training, along with regular coaching and mentoring from their colleagues. Upon successful completion of the YLP, contingent on satisfactory performance, you may be extended an offer for a full-time business analyst position within the office.

QUALIFICATIONS – McKinsey & Company Young Leaders Internship Program

Undergraduate or master’s degree
Less than 3 years of work experience
Completed or is about to begin national youth service
Outstanding record of academic achievement
Proven record of leadership through extracurricular activities and/or in a work setting
Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
