Applications now open for the OneBeat Music Residency Program
Applications are currently being accepted for the 2025 OneBeat Music Residency Program. OneBeat 15 invites submissions from 25 international artists representing up to 54 eligible countries and territories for a month-long music exchange in the United States, scheduled for April and May 2025.
About the OneBeat Music Residency Program
OneBeat Music Residency Program stands as the flagship multinational music exchange initiative of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. This OneBeat Music Residency program encompasses a range of activities aimed at fostering civic dialogue through collaborative music creation. Young musicians engage in exploring how artists, institutions, and communities can collaborate to revitalize local economies and enhance civic participation through music, technology, and the arts.
Criteria – OneBeat Music Residency Program
- The OneBeat Music Residency Program is now open for applications for a month-long music exchange in the spring of 2025, which will bring together 25 musicians from up to 54 eligible countries and territories.
- OneBeat Music Residency Program Fellows will participate in an intensive residency lasting approximately one month, providing them with the opportunity to compose, produce, and perform original music while also developing strategies for community engagement through the arts.
- Following the residency, OneBeat Music Residency Program Fellows will embark on a tour across a region of the United States, performing for diverse American audiences, collaborating with local musicians, and conducting workshops with youth and community organizations.
Throughout the month-long exchange, OneBeat Music Residency Program musicians will create projects tailored for their home countries that highlight the transformative potential of musical collaboration and civic engagement in addressing common community challenges.
