The application period for the 2025 Globalink Research Internship is now open. The Mitacs Globalink Research Internship is a prestigious program designed for international undergraduate students from various countries and regions, including Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Mexico, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Taiwan, Tunisia, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Each year, from May to October, selected candidates for the Mitacs Globalink Research Internship engage in a 12-week research internship, guided by faculty members from Canadian academic institutions across diverse fields, ranging from science, engineering, and mathematics to the humanities and social sciences.

  3. – Be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or a combined undergraduate/master’s program at an accredited institution (refer to the list of eligible institutions by country).
  4. – Have one to three semesters remaining in their academic program as of fall 2025 (consult the requirements specific to each country).
  5. – Fulfill the academic performance criteria for their country of study (see GPA standards for each international partner).
  6. – Submit applications for a minimum of three and a maximum of ten projects, ensuring that selections are made from at least three distinct Canadian provinces.
  7. – Demonstrate fluency in both the spoken and written language of the project (English and/or French).
  8. – Be available to undertake a 12-week internship, which must occur consecutively between May 1 and October 31. The internship can commence at any point between May 1 and July 31; any dates outside this range are not permissible.
  9. – Not have previously received a Mitacs Globalink Research Internship project.
  10. – Applicants currently affiliated with, or receiving funding or in-kind support from any of the institutions listed as NROs, are ineligible to participate in a Mitacs-funded project that involves research aimed at advancing a Sensitive Technology Research Area (STRA).
  11. Mitacs Globalink Research Internship will conduct a review of a selected sample of applications to verify the accuracy of the submitted declarations.
  12. Mitacs Globalink Research Internship retains the authority to deny funding for any project that promotes a sensitive technology research area due to concerning affiliations.
