Eligibility for the EU Blue Book Traineeship Program

The traineeship programme is available to university graduates who have successfully completed a standard 3-year higher education degree (minimum EQF 6 level), equivalent to a full Bachelor’s cycle, or its equivalent. To be eligible to apply, you must possess a certificate or official confirmation from your university confirming the completion of such a degree.

You will be required to submit the following documents:
– Diplomas or certificates displaying final grades clearly

Additionally, applicants must meet the following criteria:
– No prior work experience exceeding 6 weeks in any EU institution, body, agency, delegation, with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), or Advocates General at the Court of Justice of the European Union (EUCJ)
– Proficiency in languages:
– For the administrative traineeship – proficiency in two EU official languages, with one being a working language: English, French, or German at C1 or C2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, and a second language at B2 level at minimum.
– For non-EU nationals, proficiency in one procedural language at C1 or C2 level is required.
– For the translation traineeship in the Directorate-General for Translation (DGT) – ability to translate into your main/target language (usually your mother tongue) from two other official EU languages (‘source languages’):
– Main/target language must be an official EU language
– First source language for translation must be a working language of the EU: English, French, or German (C level or mother tongue)
– Second source language can be any official EU language with at least B2-level proficiency.
